We wanted to address The Parent Help Center’s response and plan to the current COVID-19 situation. We, like most organizations are actively monitoring and following guidelines provided by the World Health Organization and CDC, as well as The State of Florida and local Duval County Health Authorities.
The four core services offered by The Parent Help Center are
- The Empowered Parent Conference, which is offered online, at your own pace, and can be taken anywhere Internet is available. We ship the book directly to you, which allows the first component of our three step approach to be completed without leaving the comfort of your home.
- The second component is Weekend Success Camp which will be suspended until we receive notification from the State that it is safe to reopen.
- The third is our Summer Success Camp which takes place June 19th through July 18th. We are still planning to have camp and are actively taking reservations. This camp has sold out every year, and space is limited.
4. The fourth component is weekly support. This too can be attended online, from any location using a phone or Internet. We have traditionally offered separate in-person and online support groups but, given the circumstances will only offer weekly online support until the COVID-19 pandemic is remedied. For nineteen years, we’ve required families to first participate in our Weekend Success Camp before being allowed to join weekly support. These however are different times. We recognize how tough things may be, especially for parents at home dealing with “Strong-willed” children. As a result we are amending our 19 year policy to allow new families that have taken the Online Empowered Parent Conference, to participate in support with the rest of our Empowered Parent community.
The health and well-being of our employees is also incredibly important to this organization and as such we have enacted our work from home policy. We are still responding as we normally would just not from our camp facility. All communication channels are listed on the Contact Us page.
We have a strong plan in place and a committed staff that are regularly monitoring all of the latest updates on the COVID-19 situation. We’ll continue to stay vigilant, support each and every one of you, and update our Parent Help Center community as we learn more.
